      1. Hester is unaccepting of it being removed by someone, believing it is a part of her now
      2. Confronts Chillingworth about Dimmesdale
        1. Proposes to reveal Chillingworth's real identity to Dimmesdale
          1. This is to reduce Dimmesdale's torment of guilt
      3. Chillingworth
        1. Asked by Hester to stop tormenting Dimmesdale
          1. Rejected, as Dimmesdale has ruined his life, Chillingworth is set on revenge
          2. Is becoming more and more sinister / devilish / evil
            1. Noticed by Hester
          3. Dimmesdale's Torment
            1. Chillingworth won't stop out of revenge
              1. Chillingworth has discovered for sure that Dimmesdale is Hester's lover
                1. Will help motivate him to complete his revenge all the more
