Comparative and Superlative Adjective
  1. Comparative adjectives are used to compare differences between the two objects they modify
    1. ONE SYLLABLE ADJECTIVES
      1. Add -er - If the adjective has a consonant + single vowel + consonant spelling, the final consonant must be doubled before adding the ending.
        1. Tall- teller
          1. Fat - Fatter
        2. TWO SYLLABLES
          1. Adjectives with two syllables can form the comparative either by adding -er or by preceding the adjective with more For adjectives ending in y, change the y to an I before adding the ending.
            1. Happy - Happier
              1. Smile - Smiler
            2. THREE OR MORE SYLLABLES
              1. Adjectives with three or more syllables form the comparative by putting more in front of the adjective
                1. Important - More important
              2. IRREGULAR COMPARATIVES
                1. These very common adjectives have completely irregular comparative and superlative forms.
                  1. Good - Better
              3. Superlative adjectives are used to describe an object which is at the upper or lower limit of a quality
                1. ONE SYLLABLE ADJECTIVES
                  1. Add-est for the superlative.
                    1. Tall - Tallest
                  2. TWO SYLLABLES
                    1. adding -est or by preceding the adjective with most. change the y to I before adding the ending.
                      1. Busy - Busiest
                    2. THREE OR MORE SYLLABLES
                      1. The superlative adjective adding the most
                        1. Expensive - Most expensive
