Resumo de Recurso
MITOSIS
1. PROPHASE
Chromosomes condense, getting shorter and fatter
Centrioles start moving to opposite ends of the cell
Forms a network of proteins and fibres across cell called the Spindle
Nuclear envelope breaks down leaving chromosomes free in cytoplasm
INTERPHASE
The cell is preparing to divide
DNA is unravelled and replicated
ATP content increased (provides energy needed for cell division
2.METAPHASE
the chromosomes each with two chromatids line up along the middle of the cells
chromosomes become attached to spindle by their centromere
3.ANAPHASE
centromeres divide, separating each pair of sister chromatids
Spindles contract pulling the chromatids to opposite ends of cell
4. TELOPHASE
chromatids uncoil becoming thin and long again
They are now called chromosomes again
nuclear envelope forms around each pair of chromosomes and cytoplasm divides
There are now two daughter cells that are genetically identical to original cell
