There are eight different parts and each one has a specific role in the sentence. You can find that they are also called called grammar categories or word
classes.
NOUNS

These name a person, a place, a thing, an idea, a living creature, a quality, or an action.
PRONOUNS

They are used instead of a noun, to avoid repeating the noun.
VERBS
Anotações:
They describe an action (doing something) or a state (being something).
ADJECTIVES
Anotações:
They describe a noun. They tell you something about the noun.
ARTICLES
Anotações:
They are used to introduce a noun.
ADVERBS
Anotações:
These words usually describe a verb. They tell you how something is done. They may also tell you when or where something happened.
PREPOSITIONS
Anotações:
They usually come before a noun, pronoun or noun phrase. They join the noun to some other parts of the sentence.
CONJUNCTIONS
Anotações:
They join two words, phrases or sentences together.
INTERJECTIONS
Anotações:
They often stand alone. Interjections are words which express emotion or surprise, and they are usually followed by exclamation marks.
