  1. Why do people suffer?
    1. Moral or natural?
      1. Moral evil is when suffering is caused by people.
        1. Murder, war, accidents caused be irresponsibility
        2. Natural evil is when evil is caused by nature.
          1. Earthquakes, tsunamis...
        3. Fate?
          1. Some say evil is unavoidable bad luck
        4. Christians and Suffering
          1. Life is a test
            1. The way we react to those in need determines our afterlife
            2. We all have freewill
              1. So God is not to blame for our failures
                1. We can choose to follow the way of God or not
                2. God has His reasons
                  1. God's understanding is far greater than ours
                    1. Book of Job - Job endures terrible, undeserved suffering, but learns to accept God's will
                    2. Sufering is a punishment
                      1. God punishes sinners to make them turn back to Him
                        1. Mirrors the story of Adam and Eve
                        2. Do something!

                            1. Allah's plan
                              1. Allah has a plan for everything
                                1. No-one has more suffering than they can bear

                                    1. Not becoming bitter and showing compassion will be rewarded
                                    2. Suffering brings you closer to God
                                      1. Calm acceptance of Allah's plan strengthens faith
