    1. portraits became popular in elizabethan times as the where used not only to show wealth but to sympolise the subject of the painting for example elizabeth was painted with a globe in her hand to show her supreame power
      1. smaller portraights where also popular for personal use
      2. exploration
        1. europeans where discovering new lands and peoples and england became a major power at this time
          1. sir francis drake who was at the forefront of english exploration. As he was the person who circumnavigated (all the way around) the earth throughout 1577-1580 the exploration of drake and others led to a greater understanding of the earth.
        2. theatre
          1. theatre was extreamly poular in this time period whith many theatres being built and many plays being made that are still being made today
            1. for example shakespere made alot of his plays in this time with almost all of the m still being played today
          2. buildings
            1. this was the time period where most of the statley homes where built this was bescause befor then they where built for defence and not to impress other royalty or nobles
              1. buildings like hardwick hall which are still standing today where built within this time period and are now open for the public to see
            2. peace power and pride
              1. befor henry VII reightn it was chaos with many men caiming to be the king with elizabeths long reighn she was able to create peace and order with the millitary success makeing people proud to be english
              2. science and tecnology
                1. there was some significant breakthrougths in astromony and navigation during elizabetshs reighn with even more efficiant printing presses being creatyed
                  1. education
                    1. education was becoming more and more important with it still being seen upon wealthy boys. althougth some wealthy girs also got an limited educatiin
                      1. however boys in lower classes lives where still focused around the family church and farm/ workshop
                    2. literature
                      1. in addition to great plays being written there was also a rise in poularity of poems etc,most of the poems where about the storys of ainceint greece and rome
