LIFE CYCLE OF A SNAKE
- A baby snake breaks out of an egg (hatches) by using a special egg tooth.
- After a snake is born, it leaves
its mother and begins
searching for food.
- As a young snake grows, it becomes
too large for its skin.
- It rubs itself against rocks and branches,
then crawls out of its skin.
- The male and female snake
mate, or make babies.
- Snakes find a safe place to lay their eggs
like a hollow log or a hole in the ground.
- Female snakes reproduce, or give birth, once a year
or once every 3 years.
