Death
  1. Death takes place in this story because Romeo and Juliet end the story with a tragic death.
    1. "From forth the fatal loins of these two foes A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life, Whose misadventured piteous overthrows Doth with their death bury their parents' strife." (Prolouge act 1)
      1. In this quote, the prolouge is stating from the beginning that this lovers kill themselves do to the fact that they can't be together because of their families.
        1. The reader can understand that hate can lead to unexpected death. Such as the one in Romeo and Juliet.
    2. Death takes place in the story when Paris is killed by Romeo.
      1. (falls) "Oh, I am slain! If thou be merciful, Open the tomb. Lay me with Juliet." (Act 5 scene 3 page 4)
        1. In this quote, Paris and Romeo fight for Juliet. But before he notices it, Romeo kills Paris while fighting with him.
          1. The reader can understand that the death of loved ones can lead you to do things you do not want to do.
      2. Death takes place in the story when Romeo kills Tybalt in a street fight.
        1. "Romeo, away, be gone! The citizens are up, and Tybalt slain. Stand not amazed: the prince will doom thee death, If thou art taken: hence, be gone, away! "(act 3 scene 1)
          1. In this quote, Benvolio is saying that Tybalt has just been stabbed by Romeo. The prince will punish him for this death.
            1. The reader can understand that family rivalry can lead to deaths, which make this story tragic.
