abortion is the deliberate termination of pregnancy resulting in the death of an embryo or foetus (an unborn baby) through a medical procedure
a spontaneous abortion is commonly known as a misacrriage
In the UK, abortion was legalised by the 1967 Abortion Act. The act was also amended in 1990
If a woman wants an abortion, the point of viability cannot be reached, which is it 24 weeks
women have abortions for many reasons:
rape
when the life of the mother is threatened
too young
child wasn't desired
child would be born with severe disability
would disrupt lifestyle or other children
pro life
every human has a right to live- 'you shall not murder
human life is sacred
