THE ARTS
Imagination
In art, one of the first things we are taught is to let our
imagination guide us in the pursuit of creating art. We
may all be given the same directions for a project and will
all come up with something different because we all have
unique imaginations and thoughts.
The arts are based in 4 different perspectives,
each gives a different meaning.
-w/emphasis on
artist
-w/emphasis on artwork
-w/emphasis on audience
w/emphasis on context of society/natural world
If the viewer doesn't understand the context that the
art was created in, such as personal influences, then the
viewer may have a weakened understanding of the piece
compared to someone with knowledge of the
background.
Sense Perception
RLS: My step-dad is colorblind so he
cannot perceive pieces of art the same as
I since he cannot differentiate certain
colors
Art is taken in through the senses, predominantly the
eyes and the ears, so each person takes in the
information differently. No two people will look at a piece
of art and see it the exact same.
