Resumo de Recurso

Cellular Respiration
  1. cells break down small food molecules, previously assimilated, in order to release stored chemical energy.
    1. Chemical energy is used for muscle contraction, active transport, building up large molecules and cell division.
      1. IN AEROBIC RESPIRATION OXYGEN IS USED TO OXIDISE FOOD.
        1. Carbon dioxide and water are released as waste products.
        2. RESPIRATION WITHOUT OXYGEN IS ANAEROBIC
          1. Glucose is not broken down fully and less energy is produced.
            1. The waste products in yeast cells are ethanol and carbon dioxide.
              1. Waste products in animal cells is lactic acid.
