cell organisation
  1. differentiation causes cells to become specialised, differentiation occurs during development of a multicellular organism
    1. specialised cells form tissues which form organs which form organ systems
      1. large multicellular organisms have different systems inside them for exchanging and transporting materials
    2. similar cells are organised into tissues
      1. a tissue is a group of similar cells working together for a particular function, tissues can include more than one type of cell
        1. examples of tissues in mammals:
          1. Muscular tissue: contract to move whatever it's attached too Glandular tissue: produce substances (E.G enzymes & hormones) Epithelial tissue: covers some parts of the body(e.g inside of gut)
        2. Tissues are organised into organs
          1. Organ is a group of different tissues working together for a certain function
            1. for example the stomachs an organ made up of:
              1. Muscular tissue to move stomach wall therefore churn up the food
                1. Glandular tissue which makes digestive juices to digest food
                  1. Epithelial tissue which covers outside and inside of stomach
            2. Organs are organised into organ systems
              1. Large multicellular organisms are made up of organ systems
                1. organ system is a group of organs working together for a certain function
                  1. for example the digestive system in mammals breaks down food and is made up of these organs...
                    1. Glands (e.g pancreas and salivary glands) which make digestive juices
                      1. stomach and small intestine which digest food
                        1. liver which produces bile
                          1. large intestine which absorbs water from undigested food, leaving foeces
                            1. the digestive system exchanges materials with the environment by taking in nutrients and releasing substances such as bile
                          2. small intestine which absorbs soluble food molecules
            3. Plant cells also organised into organs and tissues
              1. Plants are made of organs like stems, roots and leaves these organs are made of tissues
                1. leaves are made of ...
                  1. Mesophyll tissue : where most photosynthesis in a plant occurs
                    1. Xylem and Phloem: transport things like water, mineral ions and sucrose
                      1. Epidermal tissue: covers the whole plant
