USA was the largest industrial producer with a lot of factories
These factories were used to produce military goods during war time
USA encouraged women to enter the workforce while Japan preferred women to stay at home
USA also had eager workers compared to Japan's forced labours
Allowed USA to be more efficient in military production and have more manpower to deter Japan
Allies war effort was well supported
Allies can sustain a long war against Japan
Japan's military and economic strength was weakened eventually
Japan Defeated
Ineffective defence of the overextended Japanese empire
Japan had difficulties managing the large territories that they occupied in SEA as it was overstretched
Japan also suffered key military defeats by the Allies such as the Battle of the Midway
Caused Japan to lose many experienced pilots and military resources such as aircraft carriers
Japan was at a further disadvantage to the Allies due to its limited manpower, resources and money
Japanese war effort was not well supported and sustained
Japan could not fight against the Allies effectively while defending itself
Japan was weakened and eventually defeated
Allies desire for quick victory over Japan
Japan used Allies POWs as force labours and totured them in harsh living conditions by pulling out their finger nails and etc
Janpan also used Kamikaze fighters to maximise destruction against the Allies
These made the Allies more determined to defeat Japan to end the war quickly so as to free their POWs from tortured and minimise Allies lost
This determination of the Allies over the Japanese eventually led to Japanese defeat
Allied Victory n Europe
Before Germany's defeat, the Allies were preoccupied in their war against Germany, thus Japan could achieve early success
After Germany's defeat, Japan lost its major supporting war partner and had to face the Allies alone
The Allies can then focus on the war against Japan
Allied resources and manpower were concentrated against Japan
The weak and overextended Japanese empire was in no position to fight further as it was alr considered lost virtually and was preparing to negotiate its surrender terms with the Allies
Dropping of the Atomic Bombs
'Little Boy' was dropped in Hiroshima on 6th August 1945
This caused over 66 000 deaths and 70 000 injuries instantly
'Fat Man' was dropped in Ngasaki on 9th August 1945
This caused over 40 000 deaths and 25 000 injuries instantly
Japan surrendered unconditionally on 15th August 1945
This shows that the dropping of the bombs was the last straw which catalysed Japan's unconditional surrender
