Early Earth
1. It was created by a volcanic atmosphere
2. When earth cooled the water condensed to form oceans and lakes
3. Photosynthetic organisms evolved in oceans and added oxygen to the atmosphere and removed carbon dioxide
4. Some carbon dioxide was removed by dissolving in the oceans forming sedimentary rocks
