1. Abraham

   • - Abraham was born in Ur, Mesopotamia in 2000 B.C.E. - The people in Ur believed in many gods, but Abraham only believed in one.  - When Abraham was 75 years old, God told Abraham to move his family to a place where God showed him, he promised Abraham will become the father of a great nation of people - When Abraham was 99 years old, God spoke to him again, God said he promise to love all of his descendants, in return, Abraham agreed that he and his people will always devote themselves to God
2. Moses

   Anotações:

   • - During 1300 B.C.E., many of Abraham's descendants were living in Egypt - The Jews number of people increased, and the Pharaoh of Egypt was scared that they will gain too much power, so he forced them into slavery - God told Moses that he wants Moses to go find the Pharaoh and led the Jews out of Egypt - The Pharaoh refused, so God punished Egypt with 10 horrible plagues  - The Pharaoh gave up but soon changed his mind, he caught up with the Jews at the edge of Red Sea - Moses raised his staff and the waters of the sea parted, the Jews escaped while the Pharaoh and his army flood away - After 40 years, Moses received the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai - The Ten Commandments were the basic laws of Judaism
3. King David

   Anotações:

   • - During 1000 B.C.E. it was King David's time of rule - David was brave and killed Goliath with a sling and with only one shot (Goliath was the fiercest warrior from Philistines, their enemy) - King David defeated Philistines and other enemies - King David united the Israelites into a single nation called Israel - King David created a strong central government, gave the kingdom courts, army, and officials - David's most sacred project was the Ark of the Covenant, it is a wood and gold chest that held the Ten Commandments
4. King Solomon

   Anotações:

   • - After King David died, his son Solomon became king in 965 B.C.E. - King Solomon built a magnificent temple to house the Ark of the Covenant - King Solomon also made trade with other countries - He also developed industries such as copper mining - Solomon was famous for his wisdom

• - A teaching of Jesus, a man who lived from 6 B.C.E. to 30 C.E. - Christians believe that Jesus was the son of God and refer to him as Jesus Christ
