  1. New software may require more memory, disk space and higher processing
  2. Existing data may not be compatible with new software. Disruptions when transferring data may waste time.

  4. Incompatible peripherals may need upgrading
  5. Technology to achieve wanted solution may not exist
  6. Development time may be long
  7. If parallel change over can't be used there may be risks when switching systems
