Enzymes and Respiration

Respiration involves many reaction, which are all catalysed by enzymes
1. An important reactions, as releases the energy that cell need to do just about everything
  1. Respiration NOT breathing
  2. Process of releasing energy from the breakdown of glucose
    1. Goes to every cell in the body
2. Happens in plants, how they release energy from their food
RESPIRATION is the process of RELEASING ENERGY FROM GLUCOSE which goes IN EVERY CELL
Aerobic Respiration need plenty of oxygen
1. 1. Aerobic Respiration is respiration using oxygen
  1. Most effective way to release energy from glucose
    1. (You can also have Anaerobic Respiration which happen without oxygen)
      1. Doesn't release much energy as Aerobic Respiration
2. 2. Aerobic Respiration goes on all the time in plants and animals
3. 3. Most reaction in Aerobic Respiration happens inside mitochondria

Respiration Releases energy for all kinds of thing: (Four examples of what energy released by Aerobic Respiration used for
1. 1. To build up larger from smaller ones (Like proteins from amino acid)
2. 2. In animal to allow muscles to contact (which in turn allow them to move about)
3. 3. In mammals and birds the energy is used to keep their body temperture steady
4. 4. In plants, to build sugar, nitrates and other nutrients into amino acid.
