In hose days Jesus came from
Nazereth of Galilee and was
baptized by John in the Jordan.
And just as he was coming out
of the water, the heavens torn
apart and the voice from the
heaven said "This is my Son,
The Beloved; With you I am well
plesed".
Temptation
And the Spirits
immediately drove him
out into the wilderness.
He was in the wilderness
for forty days tempted by
Saatan; and he was with
the wild beasts; and the
angels waited on him.
Caesarea Philippi
Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of
Caesarea Philippi; and on the way he asked his
disciples, "Who do people say I am?" and the
answered "John the baptist; Elijah; One of the
prophets". Then Jesus said "But who do you say I
am?" they answered "You are the Messiah" Jesus
ordered them not to tell anyone about him being the
Messiah. Then he began to teach them that a Son of
Man must undergo great suffering, and he will be
rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the scribes
and be killed and after three days raise again. Peter
took him aside and began to rebuke him but Jesus
said "Get behind be Satan! For you are setting your
mind not on divine things but on human things."
Transfiguration
Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter, James and John (the inner circle) and
lead them up a high mountain apart by themselves. He was then transfigured
before them and his clothes become dazzling white such as no bleach could ever
bleach them. Then the Elijah and Moses appeared who were talking with Jesus
and the Peter said to Jesus "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here, let us make three
dwellings; one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah". He did not know what to
say as he was terrified. Then the cloud oveshadowed and the voice from heaven
said "This is my Son, The Belobved; Listen to him!"|but when they looked up there
was no one with them anymore but only Jesus.
