2. Had money for his propaganda and election campaigns
4.PROPAGANDA
1. Persuaded the German masses to believe Jews were to blame
2. Persuaded Germans Hitler was their last hope
5. PROGRAMME
1. Hitler promised everybody something so they supported him
6. ATTACKS ON OTHER PARTIES
1. Stormtroopers attacked Jews & people who opposed Hitler
2. Many opponents kept quiet because they were scared of being murdered

1. Hitler was a brilliant speaker

2. Hitler was a good organiser & politician
3. He was driven but unstable
  1. He believed he had been called by God to become dictator of Germany & rule the world

1. wall Street crash in 1929 US called in its loans to Germany
2. German economy crashed
3. high unemployment
4. people starving
5. Germans wanted someone to blame
  1. Hitler offered both & Nazis success grew
9.RECRUITED BY HINDENBURG
1. In 1932 elections Nazis failed again to get majority
2. Franz VON PAPEN was chancellor but need support
  1. Hidenburg & Von Papen needed support
    1. Offered Hitler VICE Chancellor if he agreed to support them
3. Hitler refused Vice Chancellor & demanded he be made Chancellor
  1. Hindenburg gambled & agreed as he thought he could control Hitler!!
  2. Hitler did not have to take power he was given it!!
