'Into the mouth of Hell' - Metaphor, heat of battle, pain
'Into the valley of death' - Metaphor, war's a road to death
'Half a league' - Mile and a half
'Rode the six hundred' - Repetition, Psalm 23
'Blunder'd' - Verb, made a mistake, power in one persons hand, power over whole army
'Charge for the guns!' - Command, courage
'Canon in front' - Approaching battle/enemy
'Canon' - Repetition, noun, surrounded, danger, battle, death
'Canon behind' - Retreating, leaving battle
Written to celebrate bravery of soldiers
'Forward' - Adverb, keep going
'Boldly' 'Well' - Adverbs, brave, skilled
Honour to die for country
'What was a man dismay'd?' - Rhetorical question, no fear
'Not the six hundred' - Unity broken, killed, injured, less men
Strong rhythm - Galloping
Each stanzas represents 100 men
'Theirs not to make reply, theirs but to reason why, theirs but to do and die' - Repetition, disempowered, do what they're told, die for country

'Shatter'd' - Adjective, broken physically, broken spirit
'Storm'd at' - Verb, storm of bombs, bullets
'Horse and hero' - Nouns, positive, what they've done is good, not just people
'Came thro' the jaws of death' - Metaphor, survivors, fought out, should be dead
'Back from the mouth of Hell' - Metaphor, carry demons with them, not the same, made it back
'Left of six hundred' - Not all made it back
'When can their glory fade?' - Rhetorical question, glorious, remembered
'Wild' - Desperate, crazy
'Honour the charge they made!' - Appreciate what they went through
'Honour the Light Brigade' - What they did for their country
'Noble six hundred!' - Positive ending, praise, others should do same
