Computer Science 2.1.1
The Nature and Need for Abstraction
Abstraction is essentially filtering out and ignoring characteristics we don't need to concentrate on those we do.
Abstraction allows us to create a general idea of what a problem is and how to solve it.
If we do not abstract, then we may end up with the wrong solution to a problem.
The Difference between Abstraction and Reality
Abstraction differs from reality as it removes all unnecessary details in order to focus on the general idea.
