S1L1. Students will investigate the
characteristics and basic needs of plants
and animals.
Activity:• students will be observing plants in pairs; individually in the students notebook they are to write three
sentences on changes that they think occurred to the particular plant. Also the last sentence which will serve as
number four will be their written answer to the essential question-What is photosynthesis? This assessment will meet
the goals and objectives because it comes right after a kid friendly informative video on photosynthesis which serves
as an anchor with the journal writing. Teacher will read each journal entry and respond with feedback during
independent/small group time this will also serve as an extension with the lesson because during the short conferences
the teacher is able to understand and make a better sense of what the student is trying to convey in his or her journal.
Students will then record what they observed and learned.
objective: Students will be able
to understand Photosynthesis
through the actual exploration
of plants, and explain at a 95%
accuracy
Evaluating
Assessment: The students will be assessed after a kid friendly video on Photosynthesis; the student is to display their understanding
in a notebook and then answer what is Photosynthesis and confer with teacher.
