Moral: "I'd rather have a crust in peace and safety than all your fine things in the midst of such alarm and terror"./ Unlavish in safety is better than lavishness in terror perpetuates status quo undercuts power dynamic: city mouse brags about his life despite the danger of it

The goat is left in the position that the fox started in. suggests a cyclical nature Goat doesn't make sure there is a way out of the well before climbing into it
