Writing: young people can learn from past generations

Writing: you have watched a youtube documentary in class about what young people can learn from past generations. Here are some notes from the video: In which ways can young people learn from past generations: family stability, work ethic, managing money. Write an essay using two of the points and state which can be the most influential life lessons. (220-260 words)   Nobody can deny that elderly people are usually the ones who have more wisdom; however, despite this general statement, young people always seem to need some reminders concerning that. Nowadays, on this Communication Era, it seems as if past generations did not know (subjunctive mode) anything about what is happening around because of the technological advances, a lot of attention should be paid to what they could comment.  For example, my own grandfather used to recommend us to take advantage of every situation to learn about all the departments of his company in order to be capable to understand not only each state of the product but also each person who was in charge. He used to insist on that the most essential part of his enterprise was human resources and their work ethic. He always forced us to make mistakes in order to learn from them and he used to tell us that making mistakes is as important as learning from them and that we should go to bed without any regrets. On the other hand, family stability was also another essential issue for him. As he was/ due to the fact that he was a very successful businessman he could not always manage his personal issues as well as he had desired. Nevertheless, he realized about that on time and fixed the family situation in danger. For that reason, he used to remind us (their children) to always keep an eye on our home, and always look for the balance between work and family. Had it not been for the fact that he is already passed away, I would tell him how much I appreciate not only these crucial life lessons but also so many he could still tell me. Sometimes it seems as if a great number of true stories of him could be somewhere waiting to be told... Thank you grandfather...
