Recrystallisation is a process used for the purification of an organic solid Dissolve the impure compound in a minimum amount of hot solvent Filter the mixture to remove insoluble impurities Cool the mixture to allow crystals to form Filter the mixture to remove soluble impurities Wash the crystals formed with cold solvent Dry the crystals
