BunBunsen burnerParts of a bunsen burner: Collar-To regulate the flow of air into the barrel by using the air-hole. Air-hole-To allow air to mix with gas. Base-To support the barrel upright and make the burner more stable. Barrel-To direct the mixture of gas and air to the flame. To raise the flame to a suitable height for heating and burning. gas tap-To provide a supply of gas for burning. Gas jet-To increase pressure of the gas entering the barrel so that air is drawn through the air-hole. A bunsen burner is used for heating chemicals in the laboratory.Luminous flame: Occurs when you close the air-hole Has an unsteady flame, is not hot, has soot Can be seen from afar because it is orange The inner part of the flame is dark blue because it contains unburnt gas. The hottest part of the flame is just above the dark blue (unburnt gas)
