Research and Planning

Research and Planning I used various technologies when it came to planning our video. I used the site 'Blogger' to layout my progress of how I created and came to a final outcome of my video. Blogger was a easy site to keep track of what deadlines and progress I was at. I used blogger from production to evaluation of our video and it became a diary of my editing and filming. Blogger was beneficial to upload videos, photos and documents which showed our inspiration of creating our own work. I involved every bit of detail of what I did, the improvements, the result, what to include about my audience target and theorists. I used webtools to present my work. I used these webtools: Prezi Slideshare Examtime Emaze Survey Monkey Vimeo To create my music video, I used the website YouTube to research through genres and layout of music videos. Although I researched through current music videos in the top hits, I also researched through previous drafts from other schools to see what they have used in particular to get the grade they did. For example their grade could be due to camera work, choice of narrative and the link between visuals and lyrics. Genre is an important element when it comes to creating a music video and I used YouTube to analysis different videos which had the same genre as I choose. This was beneficial as I analysed the conventions commonly used and selected which ones I would use in my own. I also used Google to research digipaks which had similar genres and I analysed a few to see what they have in common. My group gathered some digipaks and we analysed them as a group and organised what we would like on our joint digipak. We took photos of these digipaks and uploaded them onto our blogger site.

Research and Planning Mobile phone: I used my mobile phone to take photos of our group setting up camera and lighting, the location and editing to create a post of our progression. We also filmed our lip sync video through phone as we didn't have access to a camera. Computer: We used the computer to research and uploads images. For our digipak we were able to use Photoshop on the computer to upload photos that needed to be edited and placed on my blog. Camera: We used a camera to take photos of our production work and also take images for our digipak. This allowed us to have high quality images as well as explaining the progression of making the video.

The Construction: We used a high definition Canon 700D camera to film our music video and along with the camera, we used a tripod to steady and balance our filming. After filming we uploaded our footage on to the computer and imported them into a editing software called Adobe Premier Pro. On this software we were able to select the footage we wanted, insert it into our timeline which allowed us to edit the footage and added in video transitions and effects. Most importantly though, we were able to link the lip sync to the right timing of the lyrics. To create the images for our digipak, we used a Canon 1100D which was less quality than the filming camera, however we used a photography studio with backdrops and lighting to produce better quality images. To edit these images I used the software Adobe Photoshop and by using this I created a CD cover and a poster to advertise my CD. AdobeTo edit our video, we used the software Adobe Premier Pro. Adobe Premiere Pro is a timeline-based video editing software application. It is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud, which includes video editing, graphic design, and web development programs. To create my digipak, I used a software called Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop is the predominant photo editing and manipulation software on the market. Its uses range from full featured editing of large batches of photos to creating intricate digital paintings and drawings that mimic those done by hand.

Evaluation

EvaluationBloggerBlogger was used to record our filming, editing with research and planning activities and this was done throughout the process of making. Blogger was a easy website to access through any technology. I was able to keep up to date with my blogging and upload images, videos and web tools and it was summarising my process of creating the video. Overall, I needed to analyse my findings and data on blogger and I had to make this clear to see what stages I have done. Blogger is an easy website to access and edit posts to publish. It is a simple and quick way to get hold of up to date work and track any process.

Facebook As we needed feedback from our target audience, we decided to upload our video onto Facebook. Facebook allowed me share my video to groups of people and online friends which allowed them to comment, share and like the video which showed their opinion. On Facebook, you are able to choose who is able to see the post you've published by either sharing it or changing the settings to show the public. Therefore when it came to our video, my friends were able to share the video which gained more viewers and comments. I also used Facebook to publish questionnaires and asked for peoples opinions about the video and I had many comments as well as private messages about what they thought.

Tools and Resources

YouTube & VimeoThe drafts and final outcome of my video were uploaded to the site YouTube and Vimeo. These are sites where you are able to share videos across the world which can then be liked, shared, embedded and commented on. This was a good way to gain an audience because there are wider audience to attract. However, some videos don't upload on YouTube because they are claimed as copyright therefore we also used Vimeo. Vimeo is website similar to YouTube however not as popular. Both websites are easy accessible and easy to work, you are able to connect other websites with these sites.

Slide ShareSlide Share is where people can embed power points, it is quick and easy. This was useful to gather small amount of information in any form you'd like such as bullet points or small paragraphing. I used slide share a lot when blogging because it was complicated and it looked professional. IssuuIssuu allowed viewers to upload and embed word documents which looked professional and easy to access plus the document is neatly organised so it is easy for the viewers to read.Prezi Prezi is like a big spider diagram, however it moves to each bubble like a slide show. You're able to upload videos, pictures and it was easy to do subheadings and write information about small topics.Exam Time Exam time has multiple ways of presenting someone's work. They supply flashcards, notes, spider diagrams, slide set and quiz's. All these were handy for definitions and titling subheadings. Powtoon Powtoon is a website where you can create a short cartoon video and it works like a presentation. This is beneficial because it attracts the audiences eye with the animations. Emaze Emaze is a presentation website where you create a Power Point on the website and use various features such as animations to make it more appealing. I believe this is easier than Slide Share because you can create one straight away rather than waiting for the upload.
