Belief about Deity

Denomination - Different Christian churches within Christianity e.g. Roman Catholic

Roman Catholics Largest Christian church in the world Believe in transubstantiation, the belief that the bread and wine are transformed to the body and blood of Jesus Christ The Pope at the Vatican in Rome is the head of the church

Church of England The Queen is the head of the church and therefore it is the church of the state They are quite modern in their views; allowing women priest The Archbishop of Canterbury is the senior leader

The Reformation Around 1500 A new denomination invented Called 'Protestantism' Protestants protested against certain things that the Catholics did Martin Luther disagreed with the Pope and began the Protestant church

Worship usually refers to specific acts of religious devotion To idolize: Love unquestioningly, excessively and uncritically People pray to show worship because it is a way to speak to God with family and express thanks and love to God

Symbols in Christianity

I think people use symbols instead of words because it is easier to remember. It is more difficult to remember a sentence or two rather than having a symbol as a sort of prompt, so that the words can be remembered. I think symbols are more effective because it only takes a glance to see a symbol, so if you are say driving, it will be harder to read words than see a symbol. Symbols can be recognised by everyone of different languages.
