compounds and mixtures

when 2 or more different atoms join together they make a compound. The symbols of elements can be used to write them in a formula for a compound.

here are some examples: KCI CaO MgO NaCI

magnets

magnets have a n-pole and an s-pole. some materials are magnetic, some are not.

magnetic feilds

magnets can attract or repel they can do this without touching. this is because they have a magnetic field.

electomagnets

light

light rays and mirrors

you can see this page because light rays are being reflected off the white paper and into you eyes.where light rays shine on the black ink of the book the light doesn't reflect it, it absorb it

curved mirrors

curved mirrors can be CONVEX or CONCAVE

only iron, steel, nickel, cobalt, are magnetic. all magnets have invisible magnetic fields.

electric current can also create magnetic fields. we can us this effect to create powerful magnetism.

greater magnetism can be produced by  more current  more coils

world of colour

white light is am mixture of all colour. the colours are split by the prism.the white light has been dispersed.

conduction heat energy gets passed by kinetic energy

convection hot air respires upward

radiationtravel through the air.

energy is tansfered from particle to particle. they vibrate faster and bump against each other on the hot side so they produce thermal energy.

hot air is less dense than cold air. hot air currents rise from the ground then cool down and sink to the ground in a cycle.
