1. Caused by a bacteria. Can be community acquired by contact and sharing of equipment. Can be nosocomial like a surgical site infection
2. Nasal swabs may be done for those who were recently in the hospital or who live in group settings.
3. Infection can range from mild to severe and can present as folliculitis or furuncles.
4. If this gets into the blood, sepsis, organ damage and death can occur
