A magnetic hard disk stores data using magnetism on the platter, which spins and an actautor moves the drive head to the correct track with the data on it.
North and South magnetuic fields on the platter are able to store the data in binary.
A laser beam burns a pit onto the surface of the disk, and if a pit is present this can represent binary, as 1, and if it's not present it could be a 0.
Solid State storage is the faste of the three types of storage. It is used in more expensive hard disk drives, USB and memory cards.
Information can be accessed fast as the SS doesnt need to wait for a disk to move to access it.
