Saint Valentine [blank_start]was[blank_end] a Roman Priest at a time when there was an emperor called Claudias who [blank_start]persecuted[blank_end] the church at that particular time,
The Emperor [blank_start]had[blank_end] an edict that [blank_start]prohibited[blank_end] the marriage of young people. This was based on the hypothesis that unmarried soldiers [blank_start]fought[blank_end] better than married soldiers because married soldiers might be afraid of what might happen to them or their wives or families if they [blank_start]died[blank_end].
Sain Valentine [blank_start]didn't believe[blank_end] in that and [blank_start]kept[blank_end] on marrying young people. Valentine was eventually [blank_start]caught[blank_end], [blank_start]imprisoned[blank_end] and tortured for performing marriage ceremonies against command of Emperor Claudius the second.
In the year 269 AD, Valentine was sentenced to a three part execution of a beating, stoning, and finally decapitation all because of his stand for Christian marriage.
