Music is the only language the whole world understands, and though certain people understand each other’s dialects more than others, the common feature is that we can express our feelings through music the best, be it joy, sorrow, a positive outlook on life or mourning.
Here’s a more in-depth look into all that makes psytrance live act artist and dj GASPARD, “a committed family man, dedicated producer, and all round psychedelic character”.– What were some of the events or experiences that set you off on this journey?– Well, up to the 1990’s, I was mainly into punk and metal. I found the emerging electronic music not to my taste. I couldn’t get into it, and I really wasn’t into the people who were. Through a very good friend, I started getting into bands like Ozric Tentacles. What I really liked was the fact that there were no vocals, which meant you made up your own mind about the visuals of the music. This was new to me as what I’d been into before was focused a lot on lyrical content. In 1991, I travelled up to Amsterdam with a couple of friends for an Ozrics gig at the Paradiso. The actual gig was amazing, visuals all over the walls and ceiling, great set, super crowd. But as soon as Ozrics ended, on came Eat Static, and my mind was blown away. Here was electronic music that sounded amazing, no cheese, with an eclectic crowd totally going for it! For me, this was a major turning point!
