Quebec/New France

The French and British fought over control of the [blank_start]fur trade[blank_end]. France and Britain were major [blank_start]rivals[blank_end]. Both countries wanted to dominate the [blank_start]continent[blank_end].

French and British had [blank_start]fur trading post[blank_end] around the [blank_start]Hudson Bay[blank_end].

Treaty Of Utrecht forced the French to give up trading posts around [blank_start]Hudson Bay[blank_end] and colonies in [blank_start]Acadia[blank_end] and [blank_start]Newfoundland[blank_end].

Under [blank_start]British[blank_end] control, [blank_start]Acadians[blank_end] were forced to take an oath of [blank_start]loyalty[blank_end] to the British.

[blank_start]Acadians[blank_end] who did not take the oath were [blank_start]expelled[blank_end]. Acadians were forced to leave [blank_start]Nova Scotia[blank_end].

The British conquered French Fortress of [blank_start]Louisbourg[blank_end], [blank_start]Quebec[blank_end] and [blank_start]Montreal[blank_end].

In Europe, Britian declared war on Francein 1756. In 1763, the [blank_start]Treaty of Paris[blank_end], ended the war.
