Answer
  • Like heavy / dark / clouds which come really low, so it looks like its night time, even though its daytime.
  • In Quran there are warnings (thunder), threat of punishment (lighting) and commands (that seem like death to the hypocrites). Thus rain refers to quan in this ayah.
  • Clouds raining harshly, strong wind and thunder and lightning flashing.

Answer
  • Allah is warning them that if they do not stop their evil acts of hypocrisy (lying, cheating etc.) – Allah may misguide them.
  • When things are easy, they do what Muslims should do. but when things get difficult, they stop doing it.
  • This means that no-one can guide them or help them, and these people cannot ask others to guide them either.

Why did they (Hypocrites mentioned in Ayah 8 ) accept Islam?
Answer
  • Because they try to fool; Allah, those who believe, but they don’t fool anyone but themselves.
  • Because of the power of Islam. As Muslims were being successful, so out of fear they accepted Islam.
  • Because Allah is warning the Hypocrites of a Pain which is Constant and does not End.

Lessons learned from the ayaat 19 and 20 ?

  • Emaan is a treasure so we have to value it, prove it, live it, as it is a key to Jannah.
  • We should use our hearing and vision in the way of Allah, because if we don't use our faculties, Allah can take them away.
  • Rain causes Earth to come to life, similarly life of our hearts comes from the Quran. So we should hold onto Quran in every situation.
  • Difficult times are the opportunities to excel in the way of Allah.
