The [blank_start]Lady Jane Grey[blank_end] affair occurred because [blank_start]Edward[blank_end] didn't want [blank_start]his[blank_end] [blank_start]sisters[blank_end] to rule because [blank_start]he[blank_end] saw them as [blank_start]weak[blank_end] and didn't like the possibility of them being controlled by their [blank_start]husbands[blank_end]. the likelihood of their [blank_start]husbands[blank_end] being foreign monarchs were [blank_start]high[blank_end], therefore there was a possibility for England to become one of its European rivals' empire and [blank_start]he[blank_end] wanted to avoid this as best as possible. therefore [blank_start]Edward[blank_end] originally decreed that it would be one of [blank_start]Lady Jane Grey's[blank_end] [blank_start]male[blank_end] heirs, however when [blank_start]Edward[blank_end] discovered that [blank_start]he[blank_end] would die soon and that there would be no heirs [blank_start]he[blank_end] amended his decree to put [blank_start]Lady Jane Grey[blank_end] on the throne. As a result of this plan failing [blank_start]Lady Jane Grey[blank_end] ruled for [blank_start]9 days[blank_end] and she was executed under [blank_start]Queen Mary[blank_end] after [blank_start]she[blank_end] took the throne.
