Slide 1

    Ancient Greek Mechanics
In Greece, there were many different inventions that helped the world today. They made barriers to stop ships, drive belts to move objects and many more.

Slide 2

    Ancient Cranes
They used cranes for the following reasons:  To move heavy objects Transport goods  Transfer  A smaller piece of machinery than other large mechanisms

Slide 3

    Archimedes Claw
The claw was made to prevent ships from moving any further. It grabbed the top of the ship, bringing it into a stop. The people on board could try to remove the claw, but the firm mechanisms gripped too hard. It is named the Archimedes Claw as it is the shape of a hand.   The mechanism is a lever, like a weighing scale. Weight forced on one end of the claw would raise the other end up, it was all about timing.
