The SAT tests the skills that students learn in school. It is always important to remember that it is not merely a student's SAT score that will get them into college but their High School grades too. The SAT is designed to assess students in the following areas:
Critical reading – This section includes reading passages and sentence completion.
Writing – This section includes a short essay and multiple-choice questions on identifying errors and improving grammar and usage.
Mathematics – This section includes questions on arithmetic operations, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability.

The math exams aims to analyze students' problem-solving skills in order to get some understanding on how they think and approach difficult technical tasks.The test is 70 minutes long with two 25 minute sections
and one 20 minute section. There are 54 questions in total with 44 of
them being multiple choice and 10 response questions. The test covers
basic math skills that are typical for a student at the end of a junior
year so its time to get familiar.
As you probably already know, the SAT is a time-limited exam with a duration of 3 hours and 45 minutes. Sometimes the time constraints in an exam situation can adversely affect a student's performance.
