GoConqr tools provide an easy way to access and create resources to facilitate studying art and art history.Let's look at how these tools could be used to enhance your learning for art class.
Flashcards are a great way for you to learn snippets of information to commit to memory, such as key definitions or identifying artworks. The ability to include images is particularly important when learning about art!You can discover already created flashcard decks which you can use to revise on the go, using the GoConqr mobile app.You could break a topic into sections and you and your friends could each work on making flashcards for a different section. You can then share the decks in a class group created on GoConqr, or by emailing directly to your friends. The flashcard deck on the top right is an example of keywords and definitions for painting. Another example gives some paintings to identify.Try these decks and then create your own!
GoConqr quizzes are a useful and fun way for you to test your learning. You can ask your teacher to create a test for you, find one already online, or make one for your friends. You can create quizzes with a variety of question types, including multiple choice and fill-in-the-blanks.You can take the test multiple times and track your improvement. When your friends review your answers, they can see not only their result, but why their answer was correct or incorrect. Quizzes can be timed.Creating your own quizzes is a wonderful way to deepen and demonstrate your mastery of subject material, and you can have fun competing with your friends. Why don't you invite your friends to try the quizzes on the left? The example on the top left asks students to identify the styles of various artworks. The example on the bottom is an exam for a stained glass class.
Mind maps are used to arrange information visually to facilitate understanding and recall. You could create resources like the mind map guide to art movements (top right), which includes annotations and illustrations, or search the GoConqr library for more examples. You may also find mind maps useful for organising your thoughts for written assignments such as essays. The mind map on the bottom right is an example using Art Nouveau works and artists. Each node represents a concept or idea, and further information or explanation can be included in attached notation. You can check off nodes as you learn concepts or complete tasks, and keep track of your progress.
You can take notes in class, or make notes at home. These can be shared in groups and used for revision, on a desktop computer, or on the GoConqr mobile app.You can copy, edit, and combine notes, collaborating with your friends to make a revision guide for exams.Notes can include images, video and links to other resources created in GoConqr.
Slides can be used for traditional presentations in class, but GoConqr slides can be used for so much more:Other resources, including quizzes, mind maps and flashcards, can be embedded in slides, organising your material for easy access and presentation.Videos can also be embedded in slides, so you can show video excerpts straight from your GoConqr slides. The use of video and audio clips can add variety to a class and is particularly useful for displaying performance art.
A further feature of GoConqr is the ability to create groups. You can create a group for each of your classes or exams, making it easy for you to share resources with your friends.Groups can be used for discussion outside the classroom which facilitates peer learning - keep up with what your friends are studying! You can also form a group with students from other schools who are studying similar topics.
