Greetings!   Objective of this course is to present a short session about teamwork for scout leaders. Since the leaders organize patrols into teams, firstly, it is essential to grasp understanding of the term "team", what type of team can be called "effective" or "successful". This is important in order to avoid blindly following scouting program about teambuilding. Another issue is excessive usage of teambuilding exercises when the leaders are not aware what is their purpose. After this course, scout leaders can consider for what reason they conduct an activity with a troop. Leaders themselves are involved as team members in a scout organization which always has the mission and vision, leaders strive together for the success and in the organization they see different stages of team development though sometimes it is hard to name it.  Outcome of the course- at the end of the course, participants will be able  to define the term "team" to characterize "successful teams" to understand team development stages Learning content: Course participant introduction via padlet Presentation of the terms: "team" and "effective teams" and Slack discussion in pairs Video of the model: team development stages and general discussion at Slack.   Final assessment Assignments: Two Discussions in pairs at Slack after the modules of teamwork and successful team characteristics.  General discussion on team development stages Evaluation tool: Via activities at Slack and  final assessment of individual development plan; there is a feedback form at the of the course.  Time: -Padlet introduction: 10 mins -2 Presentations, comparing answers, a small reading, 1 Slack discussion: 35 mins -video and 1 slack discussion: 20 mins -final assignment: 25 mins -feedback: 10 mins Overall: 100 mins

After you get introduced each and read your own explanations of "team" and "teamwork", I present what do we mean by these terms.  You can compare your answers to this definition at this presentation link: https://view.genial.ly/5de57c5e4e31260f39073323/presentation-untitled-genially In scouting, you as a leader help the troop to become members of one team. Each leader needs to encourage others to learn from each other, to set the goals, to share responsibility, to respect each others' views.  What unites leaders and teams are tasks, for instance, building a bonfire. Each team member possesses skills and knowledge which can contribute to reach the goal and fulfill the task.  Successful teams collect all the skills and expertise of its members.  Now let's move to the definition of effective and successful teams.  Everyone has ever worked in an effective and ineffective teams. It is primary to learn whether the teams work successfully or not. But first, let's remember from our experiences.  On the platform of Slack, I have added all of you: https://join.slack.com/t/teamwork-qtn8503/shared_invite/enQtODQ1MzcyNDYzNDc1LWUwZTY1ZDU5MTYyZWU3MzZhNWJjODI2NzA4YWQ4NzYzNmI1OGM3NzAzYTA3NTRhMzY2NGJmMDk2NDYzOWExZTM Now you should choose a pair from Padlet and create your own channel on Slack (e.g. #effectiveteam N1, N2...) and discuss in a pair for 20 minutes the following issues: Name your most successful experience being in a team, why was it so successful, how did you feel? What kind of personal traits did you and the other team members show when you were in that team; name the skills, knowledge, attitudes that were displayed by all of you. Picture the ideal team
