In this short learning activity, you look at 3 sample sources of informational texts for school use:
1. A resources platform, called Actively Learn, which has a large collection of informational texts. The materials are for both native-speaking and L2 learners. Each text also contains built-in questions and notes.
2. A coursebook published by National Geographic for ESL learners. In this coursebook, students still learn the grammar, vocabulary, macroskills, etc., of English. But the reading materials are mainly about the world.
3. Three texts from a chapter in Our World Grade 6 coursebook. You may compare these texts with the ones usually found in ESL coursebooks for primary students.
