• Dipa Karmakar (GYMNAST)

• Her Early Life Hailing from Agartala in Tripura, Dipa Karmakar started her school life and education in Abhoynagar Nazrul Smriti Vidyalaya; she started practicing gymnastics when she was only 6 years old and has been coached by Soma Nandi & Bishweshwar Nandi since.

• CAREER In a career span of 9 years, Dipa Karmakar has earned a total of 77 medals out of which 67 are gold at the state, national and world championships. Dipa is one of the only 5 women to have performed Produnova (difficulty level 7) vault. She has also made a record score of 15.100, the highest in the competition.

• INSPIRATION YOU TAKE FROM HER LIFE The inspiration I took from Dipa Karmakar's life when she won a gold in the Olympic test event in the vaulting horse event and stood all round 79th. Total 98 spots are selected for the Olympics and Dipa was 79th. It was a great victory for the country, Dipa, her coach Nandi Sir and the entire Indian gymnastics fraternity.

• ACHIEVEMENTS She has won the ARJUNA AWARD in 2015 and the PADMA SHRI in 2017
