• This is the enzyme responsible for fixing carbon to RuBP however it is inhibited by Oxygen

• 2 molecules of this are formed after the very brief 6 carbon intermediary substance breaks

• 6 turns of the carbon cycle are needed to form 1 hexose sugar like glucose

• About 1/6 of the triose phosphate goes to hexose sugars the rest is used to resynthesise Ribulose 5-phosphate for RuBp to fix another carbon
