- What is a pick?
- A pick can be as simple as a bent paper clip. It is used to set the tumblers

- A torque is the thing used to turn it with
- How do locks work?
- When a key is inserted it moves these things called Tumblers. When the tumblers are in the right place they will be "set" and you can
turn the key.
- How do I open it without a key?
- You have to set the tumblers with your pick then move on to the next one. Once they are all set use the torque to turn and
open it
- Are there different types of locks?
- Yes but they all have a similar lock function.
- How do I set the tumbler?
- First you have to push the tumbler completely out of the cylinder. Then when it falls down slowly push it up until it clicks. It should
be set
- What mindset should I have going in to this?
- Extreme patience. It's not something you can just walk up to and get it
over with if you're new to this. Just be patient.
- What's one of the first things I should do before actually picking the lock?
- Try to get a "feel" of the lock by "raking" the tumblers.
