teaching, technology in the classroom, and 21st century education
Anmerkungen:

I plan to extend this readnig more into the area of education. Instead of reading these articles as another part of my daily digital content, I'd like to make a more pointed effort to explore the education sections of each of these resources.

- Goal: Paperless writing classes
Anmerkungen:
- While the system I have created for my writing classes works well, I would really like to venture into the more progressive territory of student assessment and digital tools. Thus, I am planning to make all my classes next semester paperless through the use of Turnitin.com
- Begin using Turnitin.com for all writing classes
- Research the best methods for
assessment and implementation for
paperless writing classes
- Collaborate with other
writing teachers for advice
- Goal: Build a network of experts I follow online
Anmerkungen:
- This goal will require me to increase my awareness of the online community devoted to education. I have begun following several experts in the field on Twitter, but plan to begin following several acclaimed educational blogs as well.
- Follow Education Experts on Twitter
- Follow Education-focused blogs online
- Goal: Become a more
student-centered instructor
Anmerkungen:
- In my writing classes especially, I still tend to adopt a style of teaching that is traditional and lecture-based. I want to learn how to teach writing in a way that encourages student-centeredness.
- Self study how to adopt this approach
- Read various scholarly journals and education-based
websites for research, tips, and methodology
