What do successful people do differently?
  1. They don't necessarily study MORE, they study SMART

    Anmerkungen:

    • More about this on the Marty Lobdell's lecture "Study Less Study Smart": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlU-zDU6aQ0 6-minute sum up of this lecture by Thomas Frank: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23Xqu0jXlfs
    1. Divide studying process into smaller parts
      1. They focus on understanding the material, not just remembering pure facts: they make connections and learn how to apply concepts
      2. In most cases, they have a strong motivation that drives them and pushes them to prosper
        1. They have internal motivation, rather than external one
          1. It has been proven that those who are focused on the pride of success have a higher success rate, whereas those who are more focused on the embarassment of losing tend to achieve less
          2. They know how to focus at crucial times and how to use their time correctly
            1. Instead of plain reading, writing and rewriting their notes, they will focus on doing past papers
            2. They stick to their study schedules
              1. When making them, they enter their non-school/non-studying activities
              2. They go beyond their working/school environment
                1. They learn because they want to KNOW: out of enjoyment and will read and learn beyond the school syllabus
                2. They are risk-takers, but are always on the "safe side"
                  1. No successful businessman had made a 'leap of faith' into a business idea and left nothing if the project failed. Successful businessmen will take risky moves, but they are aware of the risk, and are prepared for the possible negative consequences
                  2. They are resilient
                    1. They will not give up after one idea fails. They will stand up, brush the dust from their shoulders and walk away into a new project
