- Test for the presents of H. pylori
- Endoscopy to detect inflammation
- Barium swallow to detect abnormalities
- Treatment
- Antibiotics to kill H. pylori
- Proton Pump inhibitors- block acid production and promote healing (protonix, prilosec, nexium, etc.)
- Histamine 2 blockers- reduce acid production (Pepcid)
- Antacids- neutralizes gastric contents
- Clinical Presentation
- fullness, vomiting, epigastric pain
