Al- FATIHA (The Opening)

Makki Surah
1. 7 verses all revealed at once
  1. 5th in order to be revealed (sent to PBUH) but 1st chapter (opener) of the Al-Quran
This Surah is very important chapter of the Qur'an
1. We Learn in Hadith Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "There is no prayer for the one who does not recite the opening of the book (Al-Fatiha). Narrated by Al-Bukhari, 714
  1. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "it is the greatest Surah of the Qur'an
This Surah covers many important themes, -Tawheed, Day of Judgement, Different types of people
1. It has many names such as Umm- Ul- Kitaab (mother of books), Umm-Ul- Qur'an (mother of Qur'an) and the seven repeated Ayat of the Gloriuos Qur'an
  1. Al-Fatiha is Dua (supplication), Ash- Shifa (cure) and Ar-Ruqya (remedy)
    1. It is Al-Hamd because this Surah Glorifies and praises Allaah SWT
2. Who we should ask for help, worship none but Allaah SWT, He is the Master of the Day of judgemnt and very importantly we learn dua Allaah teaches us 'guide us on the straight path'
Al-Fattaah- The Superb The One who opens door of Mercy and Sustenance One who has Supereme Authority
1. Names of Allaah mentioned: Ar-Rahman (The Most Generous). Ar-Raheem (The Most Merciful) and Al-Malik (The Master)
