- PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
- USAGE
- 1) To describe a past action already started and continued up to
another action or timr in the past
- 2) To express the duration before something in the past
- 3) To describe the cause of something in the past
- EXAMPLE: They were so happy because they had been celebrating at a party
- EXAMPLE: Sofia needed to rest because she had been training so hard to compete
- EXAMPLE: The girls had been swimming on the pool for about an hour when I started
to warm up

- AFFIRMATIVE: Subject + Had + Been + Verb (ING) + Complement
