Computer science hardware mind map
- CPU
- CPU stands for Central Prosesing unit
- The CPU is where the computer performs arithmitc and Instruction and logic tasks
- The clock speed OR clock rate - indicates how fast the CPU can run. This is measured in
megahertz (mHz) or gigahertz (gHz) and corresponds with how many instruction cycles the CPU can
deal with in a second.
- CATCHE is used to temporarily hold instructions and data that the CPU is likely to reuse. MOTHER
BOARD The motherboard is a circuit board that connects the CPU to the memory and all the other
hardware. AND BRIDGES and memory like RAM and ROM are the different parts of the CPU
- ram
- RAM stands for Random Acccsess memory
- The RAM is the memory that can be changed by a program and you do lose every thing when
the computer is tuned off
- The RAM is volitile as when you turn the computer off all the memory is lost
- ROM
- ROM stands for Read only memory
- The ROM is the memory that cannot be changed by a program and you do not lose every thing when the computer is tuned off
- The ROM is volitile as when you turn the computer off all the memory is saved
